Employer, sinagot ang pagpapagamot sa isang OFW na nagkakahalaga ng P350,000

Sharing is caring!

An Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) and single mom was all heartbroken after she was advised by the doctors of Mediclinic City hospital in Dubai for an emergency operation that would cost her hundreds of thousands of pesos.

Imelda Devera Pacheco, a domestic helper in Dubai, was diagnosed with stones in her gallbladder in 2013, according to Filipino Times.

Because of her worsening condition, her doctors already told her to undergo endoscopy to view and operate her gallbladder.

However, as an OFW with only little salary, she cannot afford such procedure which cost 350,000 pesos or Dh 25,000.

Fortunately, her Emirati employers who heard of her problem shouldered all the expenses that she needed for the costly medical procedure.

Pacheco said that she was lucky to have a kind employer that didn’t abandon her during her trials.

“Sa awa naman ng Diyos, nung time na ‘yun ay hindi naman ako pinabayaan ng employer ko,” Pacheco told the Filipino Times.

“Siguro dun sa ibang employer paiinumin ka lang ng gamot. Pero ‘yung employers ko, sila mismo ang nag-offer na magpa-opera ako,” she added.

Imelda said that her employer didn’t leave her even when she was already in the hospital to recover.

She also thanked her employers for not hesitating to help her despite just being their worker.

Meanwhile, the story of Imelda went viral on social media and even the netizens praised the Emirati employers for helping the domestic helper.
